In this episode Mike Vallely starts off by going through his routine which consists of answering emails, responding to people on facebook and twitter and also communicating with fans via snail mail. Then its time to pack everything up and we go to a private ramp at the Van’s offices and see some classic Mike V style.

After that its onto Murdy Park in Huntington Beach which is probably one of the worst skateparks every built! Adam Dyet shows up at Murdy Skatepark to put in his two cents as well. The whole Murdy park things is actually pretty funny cause its such a shitty little park but a classic thats been around forever. We have all skated there. Then its off to the Vallely household for a nice dinner with the family.

More on the Vans Downtown Showdown: Join Vans on Saturday, October 11 to see skateboarding’s top pros and ams shred for their chance at $85,000, as the 4th Annual Downtown Showdown invades Paramount Studios’ Back Lot. We invited top skateboard companies and their riders to submit designs for one of four custom obstacles that were chosen and built as part of the Showdown course.
Those that can’t make it to this year’s Showdown can catch all the action at www.vans.com, including a live webcast of the entire event, plus plenty of photos and up-dates. The Downtown Showdown will also air on January 19, 2009 at 8:00 pm EST/PST on FUEL action sports network.
Who: The top teams in skateboarding including Deathwish, Foundation, Toy Machine, Girl, Real, Element, Habitat, Creature, Black Label and Blind.
What: Each team will session four unique, custom-made obstacles in a round-robin format with awards going out for top team, best pro, top am and best performance by obstacle.
When: Saturday, October 11 at 5 pm (doors open at 4 pm)
Where: Paramount Studios Back Lot
Prize Purse: $85,000 in cash and prizes for individual and team winners
